Why Kazakhstan suits Korean used cars
Kazakhstan drives on the right, so left-hand-drive (LHD) vehicles are the standard and right-hand-drive vehicles face registration restrictions. That makes Korean used cars — all LHD — an exact fit, and Kazakhstan is indeed one of the major importers of Korean used vehicles. Demand is steady for durable SUVs and vans suited to the country's vast distances and varied road conditions.
How shipping works
Shipping to Kazakhstan is by container. The vehicle is secured (shored) inside the container, shipped by sea to China, and then delivered into Kazakhstan by rail. Most Central Asian destinations are served this way. Based on our recent Central Asia shipments, the whole journey takes about three to four weeks.
Container freight works on the basis of two or more vehicles per container; single-vehicle shipments to Kazakhstan are not available.

- Steering: LHD standard; RHD registration restricted — every Korean car qualifies
- Customs duty: around 15% of vehicle value under the general regime; personal imports are assessed by a combined method based on age and engine size (euro per cc)
- VAT: 12%
- Excise: applies to vehicles over 3,000cc
- Recycling fee: calculated with coefficients based on engine size and age — the older the car, the higher the fee, which works as a de facto age barrier. Check the figure for your specific vehicle before ordering
- EVs: duty exemptions and other benefits (terms change — confirm when ordering)
- Clearance: handled through a licensed local customs broker; buyer-side documents (invoice, ID/technical documents) are required
When we ship, we courier the original B/L, the Korean Export Declaration, and our inspection sheet — all Korea-side documents for clearance are covered.

How buying works
Our standard six steps: send your budget, vehicle type, and destination → we send photos of vehicles within your budget → choose your car and we inspect it → pay by international bank transfer (T/T) → we ship → original documents by courier.
