Everything you need to know about buying and importing a used car from Korea — process, inspection, shipping, payment, and documents.
The process takes six steps: (1) Send an inquiry with your budget, preferred vehicle type, and destination port. (2) We send you photos and details of available vehicles within your budget. (3) Choose the vehicle you like — we then inspect it and prepare it for export. (4) Complete payment by international bank transfer (T/T). (5) We arrange the fastest available vessel to your port. (6) Original shipping documents are couriered to you. We reply to all inquiries within 24 hours.
Send us the vehicle you are interested in and your destination country or port through the contact form at watkorea.com, by email (neohot@naver.com), or by phone or WhatsApp (+82-10-5595-9890). We respond with a full quote within 24 hours.
Our quotes are normally on an FOB basis (free on board at the Korean port). CIF is rarely used in the used-car trade because marine insurance for used vehicles is costly and difficult to arrange. We still book the vessel for you and give you the exact freight cost in advance, so you know your full cost to the destination port before you commit.
Yes. Through Korea's domestic used-car auctions and dealer networks, we can locate specific makes, models, and budgets on request. We first share the candidate vehicle's inspection results and official Vehicle Performance Record; if you like it, you send a deposit or the full amount, and we purchase the vehicle on your behalf.
For destinations served by RoRo vessels, single-unit orders are welcome. For destinations that can only be reached by container, shipping one vehicle alone is possible but the freight cost per unit becomes high — we recommend loading two or more vehicles per container, and we can advise on the most economical option for your port.
All vehicles sold in South Korea are left-hand drive (LHD). Korea does not produce or register right-hand-drive vehicles for its domestic market, so our stock suits countries that drive on the right. If your country requires RHD, please check your local import regulations before ordering.
Korean used cars are known for low mileage, complete maintenance records, and strict government-managed inspection history. Korea's official Vehicle Performance Record system documents over 100 condition items for every traded vehicle, giving overseas buyers a verifiable condition report that many other exporting countries cannot provide.
Every vehicle passes a 100-point inspection across four areas: engine and transmission (cold-start, oil quality, gearbox response), chassis and undercarriage (frame integrity, suspension, brakes), body and paint (panel alignment, accident history check), and electronics (lights, A/C, audio, sensors).
Yes. Before payment, we share the official Korean Vehicle Performance Record (100+ item condition report), our own detailed inspection sheet, and current photos of the actual vehicle. A video walkaround is also available on request. We disclose the true condition of every vehicle — including flaws — so you can pay with confidence.
No. All vehicles are inspected used cars sold as-is, without warranty. This is standard practice in the used-car export industry. We compensate for this with transparency: the official performance record, our inspection sheet, photos, and video are all provided before you commit.
We have exported more than 5,000 vehicles to over 40 countries. Our main markets include Libya, Syria, and Rwanda in Africa and the Middle East; Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Kazakhstan in Central Asia; and Chile and Guatemala in Latin America. We can ship to any destination served by RoRo vessels or container lines departing from Korean ports — tell us your port and we will confirm the route.
RoRo (roll-on/roll-off) is cost-effective for single vehicles: the car is driven onto the vessel and secured on deck. FCL container shipping costs more but offers maximum protection: vehicles are lashed with heavy-duty ratchet straps, fixed with wooden wheel chocks, and sealed in the container by the shipping line. We provide loading photos as evidence for container shipments.
Based on our recent shipments: Central Asia takes about 3–4 weeks, while the Middle East and Africa take about 7–8 weeks. Please note that transit times to the Middle East and Africa currently vary more than usual due to regional conflicts affecting shipping routes. We confirm the realistic schedule for your port at quotation and keep you updated at every stage after shipment.
RoRo shipments depart mainly from Incheon port. Container shipments depart from Incheon or Busan, depending on the vessel schedule and destination. Our operation is based in Daegu, South Korea.
We accept international bank transfer (T/T), which covers more than 95% of transactions in the used-car export trade. We do not use Letter of Credit (L/C). Payment terms depend on the type of transaction. (1) Buying from our stock: full payment at contract is standard, and terms can be discussed case by case — but the vehicle ships only after full payment is received. (2) Order sourcing: we first show you the vehicle's inspection results; if you like it, you send a deposit or the full amount and we purchase the vehicle. Export preparation begins once full payment is confirmed. To make remitting with confidence possible, we disclose the exact vehicle condition before payment and report every step — purchase, inspection, loading, departure — in real time with photos.
You receive the original ocean Bill of Lading (B/L), the official Korean Export Declaration (customs clearance certificate), the Vehicle Performance Record, and our detailed inspection sheet. Originals are sent by international courier after shipment.
Every shipment is backed by official documents issued by third parties: the ocean B/L from the shipping line and the Korean Export Declaration from Korean customs. Our business registration certificate and Korea International Trade Association (KITA) membership certificate are available on request. Buyers are welcome to visit our office in Daegu — we can even arrange pickup from Incheon International Airport.
